Candidates for Cosmetic Dentistry
More and more people are turning to cosmetic dentistry as a way to improve their smile. However, not everyone who may want to do this thinks about cosmetic dental procedures because they believe they are not candidates for cosmetic dentistry. You are most likely a candidate for cosmetic dentistry. The question is, what kind of procedure are you looking for?
Cosmetic dentistry can improve simple aesthetic issues, such as stained teeth with teeth whitening procedures, or more involved procedures, such as replacing missing teeth with dental implants and crowns may be possible.
Other Cosmetic Dental Procedures
Depending on what you and your cosmetic dentist decide are the best procedures for your particular goals, you may discuss:
- Teeth whitening – Can get teeth several shades whiter if stained by tobacco, certain foods or beverages, or environmental factors
- Chips, cracks, worn teeth – Porcelain veneers and dental bonding are both options for these kinds of problems
- Crooked teeth – Having gaps or misaligned teeth may be fixed with a combination of dental crowns or porcelain veneers, or other instant orthodontic options
- Missing teeth and gaps – Gaps between your front teeth are back in vogue, especially with women. However, if you don't want your gap, or you have gaps in between many of your teeth may, again, be fixed using porcelain veneers. Gaps caused by missing teeth may need dental implants topped with a dental crown. Dental bridges can correct mouths with many missing teeth
